Helping Small Businesses Solve Website Problems and Grow Online

Every business has different goals, but the process is the same: understand the problem, create a solution, and measure the results. Here's how I've helped clients improve their online presence through thoughtful design, usability, and technical expertise.

Website Redesign for a Thriller Author

The Challenge

Brian Drake had recently signed with a new publisher and needed a modern website that reflected his growing author brand. His goals were to connect with readers, share news and updates, and create a central place where visitors could discover and purchase his books.

Research & Discovery

To better understand what readers expect from an author's website, I created a survey and shared it within online thriller reading communities. I also reviewed competitor websites to identify common features readers valued, such as book information, author updates, and easy navigation. These insights guided the site's content strategy and overall user experience.

The Solution

I designed interactive wireframes and high-fidelity mockups in Figma, then conducted usability testing to validate the navigation and page layout. After refining the design based on user feedback, I developed the website in WordPress using Elementor, creating a responsive experience that made it easy for readers to explore books, learn about the author, and stay connected.

The Result

Following the redesign, visitors spent 21% more time exploring the website, indicating stronger engagement with the content. Google Search Console also showed improvements in search visibility and average ranking, helping Brian establish a stronger online presence for both his books and his author brand.

Southern Belle Cleaning Co.

Local Business Website

The Challenge

Southern Belle Cleaning had built a loyal customer base through referrals but lacked a professional online presence. Without a website, potential customers couldn't easily learn about the company's services, view previous work, or request a cleaning estimate.

Research & Discovery

I analyzed customer reviews on Reddit and Google to better understand why people hire residential cleaning services. The research revealed three primary customer groups: busy families, people moving into or out of homes, and small business owners looking for dependable office cleaning. These insights shaped the website's messaging, navigation, and calls to action.

The Solution

I designed and developed a clean, mobile-friendly website that clearly showcased the company's services, highlighted trust-building elements, and made it simple for potential customers to request a quote or get in touch.

The Result

After launching the website, I continued supporting the business with digital marketing and SEO for one year. During that time, we improved search visibility, monitored website performance, and helped strengthen the company's online presence. The client reported approximately an 80% increase in profits after establishing a professional website and consistent online marketing efforts.
